WeanTech LLC · Principles

Responsible research requires clear limits, human control, and usable evidence.

WeanTech develops capabilities for conditions where time, communications, and certainty are limited. That work demands a higher standard than a polished demonstration.

The rules the lab holds itself to.

These principles guide the research, prototype, and field-evaluation process — every program, every engagement.

The Five Principles

  • Degraded-mode first. Core capability should remain useful without Internet, cloud access, or a healthy primary network.
  • Secure by design. Identity, authorization, encryption, and auditability belong in the system from the beginning.
  • Human accountable. AI may assist a bounded task; people retain authority, can override it, and can understand the basis for material recommendations.
  • Evidence over hype. We state the operating conditions, test the limits, publish what happened, and distinguish a prototype from a deployable system.
  • Interoperable where possible. Systems should avoid unnecessary dependence on a single vendor, platform, or opaque data model.
