WeanTech is an independent applied R&D company led by Douglas Weant. It develops and evaluates resilient systems where cybersecurity, physical operations, and human decision-making converge.

Douglas Weant’s work sits at the intersection of cybersecurity, applied AI, operational risk, and resilient systems. His experience spans military and security roles, municipal law enforcement, and regulated physical-world operations including food manufacturing R&D.
That perspective informs a simple standard: technology used in high-consequence environments should be judged by what it enables under stress — not by the quality of its sales demonstration. WeanTech’s work focuses on systems that remain secure, understandable, and useful when communications are degraded and consequences are real.
AI is part of the laboratory, not the company’s identity. Its use must be bounded, auditable, and subject to human control.
Small, direct, and evidence-led.
WeanTech is deliberately small at this stage. Research, prototype work, and field engagements are led directly by the founder and strengthened through outside technical challenge and partnership. We distinguish clearly between research, a prototype, a field test, and a deployable capability. A promising demonstration is not treated as evidence of operational readiness.
